Let’s admit it, human or animal…. we ALL struggle with weight loss! Lucky for our furry friends of Knoxville that Ultimutt Fitness Center is here to help (sorry humans, you are on your own if you need to shed the pounds for your swimsuit)!
We would like to introduce you to 3 dogs who have embarked on a weight loss journey with Ultimutt Fitness Center; Roscoe, Sage, and Mason. These kids are a mixed bag-of-tricks from age, sex, lifestyle, and current medical conditions.
Roscoe, a middle age male Labrador, has lost over 15 pounds at Ultimutt Fitness Center! His home activity is limited as he is such a big boy and can be challenging for his family to walk on leash. Rosco’s program consisted of both the dry & underwater treadmill, FitPAWS strength exercises, and swimming. In addition to increasing physical activity, his nutritional plan was evaluated and adjustments to caloric intake were made. Overall, Roscoe has done very well and continues to lose weight with his home program. GOOD JOB ROSCOE!
Sage is a younger female Goldendoodle that was in need of weight loss, despite having a very active lifestyle. This sweet girl has a human at home wrapped around her paw, and can wag her little tail to get extra treats! Even though Sage goes on daily walks and enjoys long hikes with her friends, she still had a few extra pounds to shed before being swimsuit ready! Sage worked out at Ultimutt Fitness Center 2x weekly for about 6 weeks and made great progress. She increased her overall stamina by working on the dry treadmill for 30 minutes at a time and then would cool off in the underwater treadmill. WAY TO GO SAGE!
Mason is a big boy! Like…. big Australian Shepard! Mason has been coming to daycare at Ultimutt Knoxville and about a year ago started in a weight loss & conditioning program with Ultimutt Fitness Center. Mason is a sweet guy, but has endless energy that can sometimes drive his humans a little crazy. Thankfully for his family, he gets 2 high intensity workouts a week that really help to calm him down at home. Mason enjoys the water and will do both the underwater treadmill and swim in our large outdoor pool Give him a toy and he is ready to go! KEEP UP THE GTREAT WORK MASON!
